Riley Hopkins 150 4 Color 1 Station Screen Printing Press
This is a good unit if tight registration is not needed. No matter how tightly I set the side screws it still has some side to side movement. I put a piece of wood on each side of the screen on the table in the down position so it cannot move. I like the previous model much better. It had a bar to hold the screen and it is much easier on that one to change the tilt of the screen on the table. ( I still have one and like it very much, it is a 5 star) ) I wish the design had not changed. Ryonet is very helpful in problem solving, though, so this is not a deal breaker. I use this unit for colors that do not need tight registration. My shop is set up with a screen station for each color. I am a printmaker and screenprint colors for my wood engravings on paper.

That Riley Jr line was rebranded to our Riley 250 line, however, it does not include the 1x1 option. Whereas our Riley 150 line is the lower price point and offers the 1x1 option. Absolutely fantastic, but you need to but a wrench that fits to adjust or tighten anything.

The Riley Hopkins 150 is a great one-color press for anyone starting in screen printing or for those who need a compact option when space is limited. It’s sturdy, and somewhat easy to set up. A big plus is that it holds the screen upright with tough springs, which is very helpful during printing sessions. It’s compact but has enough versatility to handle different frame sizes, which is another big plus. Finding a stable surface is important for this press otherwise it can shift a little during use. I am definitely not a fan of the mechanics of the clamp portion. The nuts have get undone every time I removed the screen from the press which is a hassle. My platen did arrive damaged but ryonet quickly solved the issue once I notified them. So I do appreciate the effort to correct this problem.
