A Blend of Screen Printing, Embroidery & Direct to Film (DTF) Transfer | Screenprinting.com

Creating the ultimate Ryonet hoodie was a challenge we couldn't wait to take on. We didn’t want to make just any hoodie – we wanted one that truly stood out. By using a mix of screen printing, embroidery, DTF (Direct to Film) transfers, and even laser engraving, we ended up with a hoodie that's something special. Here’s the story of how we made it happen.

STARTING WITH SCREEN PRINTING

Screen printing was our first step, and it’s the backbone of this project. It’s the classic method, and we knew it would give the hoodie a clean, bold design.

The Challenge: Hoodies come with a pocket, and that pocket can make it tricky to get the print in just the right spot. Instead of printing four fingers down from the collar (like you would on a t-shirt), we had to go three fingers down. This adjustment helped us fit the design perfectly between the collar and the pocket.

Why It Worked: By taking the time to measure and line everything up, the design came out looking sharp and balanced.

ADDING SOME FLAIR WITH EMBROIDERY

Next, it was time to add embroidery. This part added an extra layer of texture and made the hoodie look and feel more premium.

Choosing the Right Spot: Instead of putting the embroidery in the usual places, we stitched it on the side of the hoodie. This little detail made it feel unique, like a hidden surprise.

Why It’s Cool: Embroidery adds depth and makes the design pop. It’s a great way to make the hoodie stand out without being too flashy.

FINISHING TOUCHES WITH DTF TRANSFERS

We wanted the hoodie to feel professional, so we used DTF transfers for the size tag. It’s a small detail but one that makes a big difference.

Why DTF? DTF transfers are perfect for adding crisp, clear details that last. By using them for the size tag, we made sure it looked neat and wouldn’t fade or peel.

The Process: We pressed the DTF transfer onto the hoodie, just two fingers down from the collar. It’s a tiny step, but it made the hoodie look more polished and ready for retail.

THE FINAL TOUCH

For the last step, we created a custom leather patch using a laser engraver. This gave the hoodie a premium, high-end feel.

Why a Leather Patch? It’s all about making the hoodie stand out. The leather patch adds a stylish, classic touch that’s different from most hoodies out there.

THE FINISHED HOODIE

After all these steps, we had the ultimate Ryonet branded hoodie. It wasn’t just about putting a design on fabric – it was about creating something that felt special from every angle.

WHAT MAKES THIS HOODIE SPECIAL?

Mixing Techniques: Combining screen printing, embroidery, DTF, and laser engraving gave the hoodie a unique look and feel.

Attention to Detail: Every part of the process was about getting it just right, from the placement of the design to the final leather patch.

WHY THIS MATTERS FOR YOUR PRINT SHOP

DTF transfers are an excellent way to add clear, professional size tags to your clothing. They give your clients' garments a retail-ready look, making your shop stand out from the competition with that extra touch of quality.

In addition to DTF transfers, offering embroidered hem tags adds even more value. These small details create a polished, high-quality feel, helping your clients’ brands appear more established and professional.

By incorporating both DTF size tags and embroidered hem tags, you’re showing clients that you care about the details and quality of their products, which keeps them coming back to your shop.
