I believe this exposure unit is all you will ever need it’s big enough for practically any screen u would use for any shirt and strong enough and consistent thru and thru. It captures all details in your design. If you are looking to buy an exposure unit that will last a life time and can handle any job this is the perfect exposure unit.
It really is what every printer should strive for! Thank you for your review!
The unit does a good job however I have issues with 2 items. #1 it does not have a on and off switch so I need to unplug it whenever it isn't in use for a long period of time. #2 the exposure button is so close to the latch I have inadvertently touched it and ruined several screens. Minor issues but they certainly should be addressed.
There's a switch on the back. there also should be some adjustment on the latch. Thank you for your review.
For the price this exposure is great but there are some caveats. As you can see there are 3 different buttons along with a control panel for your exposure time. When you hit the vacuum button it takes 46 seconds on a 23x31 screen and 35 seconds on a 20x24 screen to create a seal. Then you have to manually hit the exposure button to start the exposure, that means waiting the 46/35 seconds at the table in order to shut the vacuum off and expose the screen. It would be much more ideal if I could hit one button and walk to the washout booth, or even if this had 2 vacuums or a more powerful vacuum to cut the suction time in half. Could even make it so the vacuum turns it's self off, and by the time I get back from the washout booth I only have to hit the exposure which for me is 22 seconds using Saati PHU Red on a 230 hydromesh screen 1/1 coated. Lastly, the safelights are very bright, almost too bright and condensed in the position they are mounted. It would be better if they came off the side or weren't faced directly up to where you are staring at them. All in all, this is a huge upgrade from my old halogen bulb unit from ryonet with the turn dial and clamp/foam top, and for the price it can't really be beat. Oh, and don't forget to put the nylon rope up the vacuum tube a little bit and drape into your inkside of the screen as someone mentioned in another review, that is the only way you will get a full suction and isn't mentioned at all in the directions provided.
Hello! Thank you so much for the detailed review - we value your feedback! To keep the cost affordable, we do not add the "one button does it all" feature. However, it sounds like maybe something is making your suction go slower than it should. The rope does not go in to the suction hole but rather is just placed close to it. The V2331 is a tank! The fit and finish, the welds, and the weight of this unit are spot on. It has a look and feel of quality from top to bottom. This unit is very well made and I know will last a very long time even with daily use. The value and bang for your buck are a 10/10. I know there are units on the market that offer a few more bells and whistles but if you can press the vacuum button on and off manually and save money, count me in! If you are looking to step up to a professional grade exposure unit with a vacuum top that will accommodate up to the auto frame size of 23x31 then this is your unit. Pro tip... this unit will work best if you take a little time and build a custom table for it to sit on. All you need are a few 2x4's and some 3/4 plywood. We did and it makes all the difference in the world. You will also receive a exposure guide which is a huge help in dialing in your exposure time, especially in the beginning. Pull the trigger, you will be glad you did!
Hey Andrew, Super stoked for you in taking your shop to the next level! Glad you like the V2331! Definitely a must in any size shop!
Hello everybody, recording live from somewhere...... seriously though, this is a quality exposure unit. I've been screen printing for 6 years now and I've used it all. From Saati to NuArc/M&R to Ranar and AWT etc....and this exposure unit does just as good of a job exposing screens, if not better. Very impressed with the user friendliness as well, very straightforward. If you aren't an experienced screen printer though, the basic users guide it comes with definitely needs some help though. The best piece of advice I could give entry level printers is to make sure you stick about 2 to 3 inches of your little black rubber tubing "nylon" into the suction tube, directly over to your screen frame, you'll get incredible suction results. Much better than if you were to just drap it from screen to glass. This unit is half the cost or more than half the cost the other brands I mentioned, for the same or even better results. Screenprinting.com, please consider creating a more detailed user's guide for people, I truly believe that it would go a long way. Nonetheless, I highly recommend this unit.
