1. The Glue: Super Glue vs. Epoxy Power
Standard clear glue is typically cyanoacrylate—basically super glue. It sets quickly and is cost-effective for stretching screens, but it’s not the strongest under pressure or chemical exposure.
Red glue, on the other hand, is a two-part epoxy. It’s more expensive and takes longer to cure, but it’s:
- Stronger
- More chemical-resistant
- Flexible—which prevents mesh tears
- Better at holding long-term tension
When you apply pressure to an economy frame, you’ll often see it separate. With a red glue frame? It stays rock solid.
2. The Frame: Thicker, Pre-Bowed, Built to Last
Baselayr Premium Red Glue Frames are made from thicker 1.5” aluminum tubing compared to the 1.375” used in economy frames. This added strength helps maintain consistent tension, especially under heavy use on automatic presses.
